- Scan for buried services at every pile position before drilling begins.
- Set up the rig on a stable, level base even in confined internal locations.
- Guard all rotating parts on the rig including augers and drill rods.
- Provide forced ventilation when operating mini piling rigs inside buildings.
- Wear hearing protection, eye protection, and hard hat at all times.
- Establish an exclusion zone around the rig during all drilling operations.
- Use dust suppression or extraction when drilling in enclosed areas.
- Check overhead clearance before positioning the rig to prevent head injuries.
- Wear close-fitting clothing that cannot be caught by rotating machinery.
- Brief the team on the grouting procedure and grout burn first aid.

- DON'T drill at any pile position without confirming service clearance first.
- DON'T reach near rotating augers, drill rods, or hydraulic components.
- DON'T operate the rig on unstable or uneven ground without proper levelling.
- DON'T work in confined internal areas without forced ventilation in place.
- DON'T wear loose clothing, jewellery, or gloves near rotating rig parts.
- DON'T enter the exclusion zone around the rig while drilling is in progress.
- DON'T ignore the low headroom hazard; check clearance before every rig move.
- DON'T allow grout under pressure to contact unprotected skin or eyes.
- DON'T operate the mini piling rig without current PUWER inspection records.
- DON'T assume internal building locations are free from underground services.
