Temporary Works Coordinator Duties

TBT-TWK-019

The Temporary Works Coordinator is a key role on any construction project that involves temporary structures such as formwork, propping, shoring, or falsework. They ensure that all temporary works are properly designed, checked, installed, monitored, and removed in a controlled manner. This talk explains the Coordinator's responsibilities and why every operative must understand their role in the temporary works process.

Key Hazards
Structural collapse from temporary works installed without design approval
Premature removal of propping or shoring before permanent works gain strength
Unauthorised modifications to temporary works altering their structural capacity
Missing inspections allowing defects to develop undetected in temporary structures
