Leptospirosis is a bacterial infection spread through the urine of infected rats and other animals. Construction workers are at risk when working near watercourses, sewers, canals, or in damp environments where rats are present. The severe form, known as Weils disease, can cause organ failure and death if untreated. This talk explains how the infection spreads, the symptoms to recognise, and the precautions that prevent it.
