Description
The Gantt Chart Project Planner (Gantt Chart Pro) is a VBA-enabled Excel workbook (.xlsm) providing a full-featured programme management tool for construction and civil engineering projects. Tasks are organised in a four-level WBS hierarchy β Phase, Sub-Phase, Task and Sub-Task β with VBA buttons to add, indent, outdent and delete tasks, automatically maintaining WBS numbering throughout. Gantt bars render dynamically with discipline-specific colour coding (Civils, Mechanical, Electrical, Commissioning, MEICA, General, Design, Procurement).
Five switchable timescale views β daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly and quarterly β let you zoom from detailed look-aheads to executive-level overviews without rebuilding the chart. Dependency management supports all four link types (Finish-to-Start, Start-to-Start, Finish-to-Finish, Start-to-Finish) with positive and negative lag values, and the automatic critical path calculation identifies the longest path through the programme with float values for each task. Baseline snapshots can be captured and displayed alongside current bars for slippage tracking.
The working days calendar pre-loads UK bank holidays and supports custom non-working days, with a toggle to switch between calendar-day and working-day duration calculations. The dashboard provides programme-level KPIs (total tasks, percentage complete, on track/at risk/critical/overdue counts), phase progress summaries, upcoming milestones, an overdue task table with days-over calculations, and resource loading histograms by owner. One-click PDF export generates professional A3 landscape reports with headers, footers and page numbers.
