Leave Calendar

The Leave Calendar is a multi-year leave and absence management tool built in Excel for construction site teams. Covering the period 2026 to 2031, it provides half-day booking precision so you can accurately record morning or afternoon absences without losing visibility of who is available on any given shift. Each team member is assigned a job family, enabling filtered views and reports by trade, discipline or department.

The calendar includes a 30-day look-ahead view for short-term resource planning, plus annual heatmap sheets that show daily headcount off using colour-graded cells — making it easy to spot peak absence periods at a glance. Monthly calendar views break down each person's bookings day by day, and the summary dashboard surfaces key KPIs including the peak absence day, the most affected team, average days off per person, and remaining entitlement balances.

England and Wales bank holidays are pre-loaded for each year, and the system handles annual entitlement tracking with carried-forward and used-to-date calculations. The template is designed for site-based teams of up to 50 people and produces print-ready views for office wall display and team briefings.
