Plant Issues Tracker

The Plant Issues Tracker is an Excel workbook with three dedicated issue logs — Damage, Delivery Problems and Repairs — designed for construction sites that hire and operate plant fleets. The Damage log records on-hire and on-site defects with cost estimates, responsibility assignment (hire company vs site) and photographic evidence referencing, creating an auditable trail for back-charge disputes and insurance claims.

The Delivery Problems log tracks late arrivals, missing items, incorrect specifications and LOLER certificate issues, with wait-time recording so you can quantify the impact of supplier failures on programme and productivity. The Repairs log captures breakdowns with fault descriptions, promised repair dates versus actual completion dates, and downtime duration, enabling you to hold hire companies accountable for response times.

Each log includes severity grading (minor, moderate, major, critical) and the supplier-level KPI dashboards aggregate issues by hire company, showing total issue counts, average resolution times, cost exposure and repeat-offender patterns. Escalation history fields track when and how issues were raised with suppliers. The tracker is designed for site managers, plant coordinators and commercial teams managing hired plant on active construction projects.
